Transparency

Sanofi recognizes the importance of transparency as a means to build trust with stakeholders including the public, and most importantly the patient as the ultimate recipient of care. Transparency with patient associations is an intrinsic part of the Group's Global Principles covering Interactions with Patient Associations. As part of an ongoing commitment, we continue to update our approach towards enhancement of transparency, which incorporates voluntary approaches.

This is why when disclosing our activities with patient associations from 2010 onwards based in Europe, we include the financial amounts associated with these activities. This exceeds the current transparency requirements of EFPIA (European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations) Code of Practice on Relationships between the Pharmaceutical Industry and Patient Organisations. Furthermore, we have extended the geographic coverage of activities in 2011 to include the following countries: Australia, Brazil, Canada, Japan, USA.
